Your Bread Tags Funded a Wheelchair for Bryan
Written by Rachel Hayley on April 20, 2019
Here’s where your Bread Tags go!
A big milestone – the FIRST wheelchair funded by YOUR bread tags through Aussie Bread Tags for Wheelchairs. Your bread tags have been cashed in at a recycler and have been used to purchase a wheelchair for someone in need in South Africa.
We received the exciting news from Breadtags for Wheelchairs in South Africa that the recipient of the wheelchair is a man named Bryan who has Leukemia. He is very weak, and his new wheelchair will improve his quality of life by allowing him to get out and about more.
Thanks to everyone who has collected many or a few bread tags – they all add up!
It takes two hundred kilos of bread tags to purchase a wheelchair.
A big thanks also to our recycler Brad Scott from Transmutation for joining with us on this mission. Brad takes your bread tags and recycles them into items such as door knobs. Transmutation are situated in Robe, and are committed to recycling plastic and manufacturing quality plastic products from waste materials. They also sell quality recycled and repurposed products from craft makers. Find out more at: transmutation.com.au
