Smart Ships are here

It’s no surprise a new study into Aussie internet habits has found 91% want internet access on holiday, with close to a quarter nominating internet access as one of their key considerations when choosing a holiday destination.
Over half can’t handle being offline for over three days during their holiday, with a quarter unwilling to spend more than 24 hours without internet access.
The research, commissioned by Princess Cruises, also found that more than half of respondents considering choosing a cruise for their next holiday, would be more likely to sail if they had access to high speed internet at a reasonable cost during their time onboard.
The findings come with the first “Smart Ship” due to arrive in Australia this summer, which will provide the latest technology and high-speed internet to Australians while on holiday.
The Smart Ship includes wearable devices that allows access to a range of technology to enhance the holiday experience, including expedited check-in, family and friend locators and on-demand food and beverage services.
About the Research
The Galaxy Omnibus survey of 1,064 Australians aged 18+, was conducted by YouGov on behalf of Princess Cruises.
