Semaphore Carousel is 90

Celebrate the Semaphore Carousel’s 90th Anniversary on the Semaphore foreshore adjacent to the carousel on Sunday 6 October 2019 from 10:00am.

Rotary clubs of Kidman Park, Henley Beach, West Lakes, Largs Bay, Charles Sturt – Grange, Regency Park and Rotaract Clubs are combining to celebrate Australian Rotary Health achievements.

This event coincides with the 90th anniversary of the Semaphore Carousel which is privately owned and operated by the Henley Beach Rotary Club.

In 2015 four horses were removed to allow wheelchair access to the carousel.

In 2014 a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Henley Beach, purchased the Semaphore Carousel, and with the help of the above clubs operate the carousel to raise funds to support the club’s various charity programs.

Rotary will also be displaying a variety of projects that help support local and international Projects, including Back Packs for Kids, Treasure Box, Wheelchair repairs, Kick Start for Kids, Toy Boys and Rotary’s work with the SA Epilepsy Centre.

Displays showcasing the work of Rotary on a world stage are the almost completed task of ridding the world of polio and a major project to improve water sanitation in Ghana.

All monies raised will be donated to Australian Rotary Health and Mental Health Projects.

His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, Governor of South Australia will be in attendance.
