Puddle Jumpers Inc. have a Heart for Adelaide

On Monday The Roadies had the privilege and the pleasure of presenting the Heart for Adelaide Award to Puddle Jumpers Incorporated. A not for profit charity that provide services to hundreds of vulnerable children and their families.

This wonderful group run with 100% volunteers providing camps, activities & mentoring. The team also help people doing it tough by providing community food nights, groceries, clothing, books and toys. A big THANK YOU for all you do!

Jodie interviewed the CEO and founder Melanie Tate, plus a few volunteers as they were setting up for their weekly community food night. Melanie shared how they have qualified hairdressers that volunteer their time to give people free hair cuts.

Some women haven’t had their hair cut in 13 years. For all people in need, having a hair cut means a lot. It helps their self esteem as they can face the world feeling good about how they look.

Another activity they offer is a Reading Corner. Volunteers will read stories to children, and at the end each child is offered a book to take home.

Puddle Jumpers Inc. continue to show kindness and love to those in need, and they hope to one day offer a free Doctor service.
