Disability Awareness Workshop

9:30 AM - 2:00 PM Corner of South Road and Ashwin Parade

Description

This workshop will unpack barriers to social inclusion, cultural beliefs, and practices about disability from a CALD (Culturally and linguistically diverse) perspective.

Julie Farr Association (JFA), Purple Orange, in partnership with the Hispanic Women’s Association of South Australia are hosting for the first of six series of Disability Awareness and NDIS Workshops (Capacity Building Workshops) for the Spanish Speaking Communities in South Australia. These workshops are free of charge, and they will be held monthly on every last Friday of the month at the Thebarton Community Centre.

Do you want to know what disability is, what are the types of disability appropriate and acceptable language to use when communicating and engaging with people living with a disability and how to challenge negative attitudes towards people living with a disability? Why not come along?

One lucky person will win a door raffle prize at this workshop. You could be that lucky person.
