‘Behind the Mic with Kylie Brice’ to showcase local Adelaide musicians on The Takeover
Local Adelaide musician Kylie Brice will be joining The Takeover crew on a regular basis this year to shine a light on local music and provide upcoming stars with the chance to have their music heard as part of new segment, ‘Behind the Mic with Kylie Brice’.
“‘Behind the Mic’ is all about putting the spotlight on local, original music, and helping connect the 1079 Life community with the Adelaide music community,’ says Kylie.
“As a local singer-songwriter myself, I know the importance community radio plays in connecting my music with potential fans. 1079 Life have supported my music over the years, having me as an on-air guest, and I have had people book me for an event or buy my music because they’ve heard me on 1079 Life.”
“I see ‘Behind the Mic’ as a great opportunity to help give a leg up to other local artists, particularly young musicians who have not yet had their music played on radio. There’s so much awesome music being created locally which people just don’t hear unless they really go digging.”
The Takeover host Mary-Anne (Maz) Maio is excited to be giving young artists the chance to put their skills on show.
“I’m so honoured we’ll be giving listeners a platform to share their talent, and I’m excited to be working with Kylie on this segment given her extensive involvement in the local music scene in Adelaide, but also her energy and enthusiasm!”
‘Behind the Mic’ will feature new music from artists such as My Cherie and MC ME, as well as current Takeover favourites Peter Dixon and Tawny K.
Check out The Takeover on weeknights from 7pm-9pm to find out when ‘Behind the Mic’ will be debuting.
