St Luke’s Anglican Church is the Heart of Adelaide
On February 23, St Luke’s Anglican Church and their volunteers became the most recent recipients of the Heart of Adelaide award. Each month, The Roadies present this award to recognise groups of volunteers who make outstanding contributions to the community.
On Christmas day, the church opened up their doors to the community, and provided lunch for over 250 people. The Roadies thanked them for opening up their hearts, and spreading the joy of Christmas in such a practical way. The lunch created a sense of community, and made a huge impact among those who attended and served.
A special Thank You dinner was put on by the church, and the parish priest, Father George, cooked and served dinner to the volunteers. The Roadies were honored to be invited and included as part of this time. They loved meeting everyone, and hearing their stories about the day, and why they gave up their Christmas day to serve.
