Kairos Outside for Women receives the Heart for Adelaide Award
On Monday The Roadies had the pleasure of presenting the Heart for Adelaide Award to Kairos Outside for Women.
This Christian ministry provides weekend retreats and ongoing support groups for families and friends of those in prison.
This time allows them to experience unconditional love and support, giving participants the opportunity to make a positive change in their attitudes to their circumstances, which gives them hope for the future.
There are two Greek words for time. One of them, with which many are familiar, is chronos, meaning linear time, i.e., hours, days, weeks, etc. The other is kairos, used in the sense of ‘special time’ for a particular event which they refer to as God’s timing.
The Roadies heard very touching stories shared by the dedicated team about this weekend retreats, which are completely free.
The change that occurs during this time is incredible. The ladies realise they are not alone in their struggles. Their anger and hurt goes as they understand that God loves them.
“The whole ministry are working together as a team when we can unfold guests into our team it’s an amazing benefit to us. These women come from all walks of life. So many suffer from judgement that is detrimental to a person’s well being. The unconditional love that Jesus expressed that we should show to each other and encourage each other is what the Kairos team does for these women.” – Kairos Team Member
