Game of Life
Always the Game
On game days, it seems like everything plays into the way I play. I get up at the proper time, eat a big, correct breakfast, do the right amount of warming up, have my uniform and gear ready to go in plenty of time. So that when I hit the field, the second the game begins, I know I’m ready and have done everything to be at my best. So, in a way, the game starts the night before when I set my alarm for the start of game day.
And it’s exactly the same in the game of life. Everything I do plays into how I play the game of life. From how much I eat and drink, to when I get up and go to bed, what I watch and read, how I talk, everything. It all affects how I live as a man of God because God is about every single bit of my Game of Life.
The more I’m aware of this, the easier it is to make everything in my life work to make me play the Game of Life better. So, when I get ready for game day, if I spend the night before turning wine into water, I can’t expect to be at my best the next day. And it’s the same with my spiritual life. I know there are things that make it harder for me to be a man of God and the more I play with them, the less I can be an effective player in this Game of Life.
